Wasted HOURS trying to get sync to work—losing transactions

Sync via iCloud was working fine on iMac and iPad. Tried to add it to laptop, and turned into a HUGE MESS. Wasted MANY INFURIATING HOURS trying to get it to sync properly and worried that I was going to lose years worth of data to some sync malfunction. Even when it finally seemed to be syncing, many random transactions (neithter the earliest nor most recent) were missing, such that the balances were not the same across devices. After deleting an reinstalling at least ten times, finally got it to work. THIS IS SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE THAT SYNCING VIA ICLOUD SHOULD BE SUCH A MESS.

Sync problems

The problem is with iCould syncing between my MacBook Pro and iPhone. I am seeing duplicate entries, dropped entries and entries where the amount will disappear and just become zero. All of this is very frustrating and should not be a part of the Apple experience. I have requested a refund.

great app

Hello! This is a great app i use it daily for all expenses !!!

This should really be named ‘Multi-Money Pro

At Last!!! And now since my original post, the iWatch app works perfectly! We can enter our transactions from the watch. Also, themes on the iPhone and iPad are free. Although not a traditional accounting standard app, my hats off to the creative mind(s) that designed this database. Now there is an app that can be managed totally from more than one computer, more than one iOS device and will sync across all. Families can share the use of one debit account or separate accounts (you can monitor and manage an account for your child’s college debit account) and see all the transactions and balance on any device. I will have to see how this reconciles, there is only checking off cleared transactions, no locking or viewing of statement balances, but it looks like it will do just fine. You record transactions by the expense category, and can skip entering the establishment if you choose to, which makes it fast and easy to enter a debit. The budget functions appear to be very adequate and usable, and if you wrap your mind around the way this app works it is an amazing creative way to get everything you could want in multi user functionality. I think Apple should consider placing this high on the list of useful apps. It is an example of what the most creative minds can accomplish. They have finished the iWatch app and it works perfectly now. I just updated to the latest OS on all my devices and it works wonderfully. It did take some work to figure out how to set up everything with user and profile use. Synced accounts operate on a single profile shared to all. To prevent access to a profile, just lock it with a password which can be entered with Touch ID. Just set Touch ID for the password on each mobile device that you want to give access to in the user profile. You must set everything up on one device first, I used my mac. Then open the app on other devices and choose the user profile. This does not appear to import, sync and match with downloaded data, or, it is limited to OFX import only, so you must enter all transactions in the app to get it right or you may have duplicates all over the place. I always end up going over my statement item by item anyway so this is not an issue for me. Right now the total price for all devices in comparison to more serious accounting apps is less, and it’s capabilities and functions far surpass what they have accomplished so far in multi user functionality. There is no sync request function, it seems to be timed, but it operates very well without it.

Excellent money application

It only takes a short time to get use to the way it operates. After I fooled around with it, it bcame very easy to use. I like the way it sets up my budgets. I can find out in an istant just how much I am under or over on my budget. It is very functional. Great program.

Simple with option to be very indepth

This app is very good for keeping track of finances. Easy to enter informaiton and reports are very easy to read. I hate Accounting and this does a good job of keeping track of basic information that is required of me. Does not have automatic syncing which I found became a problem with Quicken since it could not keep up with the changing logins of all the accounts, which in turn caused me more of a headache in the long run. Basic add it yourself app with easy to read analysis.

Looks like a nice program, but problems with inital import from csv

I have been playing around with this app since it went on sale today, thought I would give it a go. I am looking for a checkbook program that syncs with my iOS devices via iCloud, not some 3rd party sync solution. This looked like it would fit my requirements. But I am trying to import 14 years of data. I exported my data into a csv file, which Money Pro can import (I have had other apps chock and be unable to import). But when I import, ALL THE DATES are today, not when they were done. This is totally unacceptable, I need to have it import with the actual dates that it was entered originally. The link saying that if you need support, visit their website. But I have not found any portion of the website that I could get support, other than leave a message on how to improve the program. I gave it 3 stars because I do like the program from what I have seen, and yes, I could start from scratch today, but I was hoping to save my existing data.

Vish

I like the IOS version on my iPad but the Desktop version does not always sync after putting in the info on my iPad. Not very efficient

Creative thinking, but useless now b/c of bad sync service - even with icloud sync

It’s a very creative idea, but there are some small bugs in the program. The iPad/iphone version doesn’t sync well with the mac version through iCloud sync. The other major issue is the lack of ability to sync our budgets with family members unless they use the same iCloud account. If we set up the same icloud account for each family members than I’ll get my kids’ and my wife’s messages, etc. The only way to sync with family members is through wifi/bluetooth - an ancient technology and not very convenient. They need to add the ability to sync the budget through dropbox or a third party file-server so during the day if my wife enters something into our budget I would see it on my phone, etc.. This is such a basic feature that every finance app uses now that I was surprised to learn that this app doesn’t have this feature. Also, another major features missing is the grouping of accounts - this would be important also as there are several saving accounts I want to group together and see their balances, or several accounts with different currencies. So all I can say that this is a great start, beautiful interface, but lacking these important features - that’s why I can only give a 2 now.

great program

Everything we have needed to start a budget and keep track are available in this. Would have given it 5 stars, except we started with the free version, and once we had all the info entered, we realized we actually needed this version and decided it was worth the money to not have to start over. Pretty clever trick… but since then, we have liked it.

Good for most things but terrible for using your checking account with it

So I really wanted to like this program, and now feel that I have wasted money on buying both the MAC version and the IOS versions…. This is the MAJOR problem: Yes you can place in all your bills and it will do a great job reminding you when they are due, etc., however, when it comes time to pay them, you have to open up the bill, mark it as paid, and then you have to go over to the checkbook (account) area, and then add a new payment into the checkbook. This is not well designed at all. If you are paying a bill within the application, then it should allow you to attach it to a payment account, and as such, debit that checking account. There are too many steps involved in doing both, which it advertises it does well. Additionally, though you can place the NAME of individual accounts into the application and program, it always places the “category” in the bills reminder and the checking account area. I really need to see that the payee is??? It’s too confusing. i have contacted the developer on several occasions to clarify if any of this can be worked around, fixed, or otherwise improved, with NO RESPONSES despite multiple attempts. DO NOT waste your money like I did. I am really quite dissapointed.

Have to keep re-installing over and over…..

I am getting tired of this. I need to have a program I can rely on. First issues with syncing, now getting messeges that my data base is corrupt and I am forced to uninstall and reinstall this over and over probably every other day. Same thing is happening on my iPhone and iPads. I would suggest not relying on this program at this point.

Great to use with Austrian bank accounts

Here is my regular workflow using Money Pro: - Once a week I download .csv files from my Austrian checking and creded card accounts. One of the .csv files needs a little bit of clean-up since it contains e.g. “+” signs and a thousand separator. But after that, import into Money Pro (desktop version) works smoothly. Money Pro can distinguish previously imported transactions from new ones - very handy! - After importing I categorize all transactions. New category hierarchies are easily created and I appreciate the large number of pictograms to choose from. - I also use the iOS version. Sychronization (via iCloud) works without any problems. I mostly use the iOS version to keep track of cash payments. This is real easy since Money Pro can be added to the notification center. When I lived in the US I was a very happy user of Intuit’s Mint. Unfortunately, Austrian banks and Mint don’t cooperate. Since I discovered Money Pro I am a happy camper again.

Wishes

Good apps. Wishes: Would like to choose source origin of Currency exchange rate due to big difference in all the world for ex. yahoo finance, europe market, asian, etc. Thanks.

link with bank

Wish money pro can connect with bank for download...

Huge Potential

I bought this app for my Mac along with its iOS version thanks to the incredible Thanksgiving Offer (90% off!). Interface design is wonderful, probably the best out in the market. Support is also great with my inquiries replied thoroughly. However those still cannot cover the fact that the Mac app could be considered unfinished. You can immediately notice the iOS version to have more small features (eg. set the order of accounts) and it has some annoying bugs. I am going to give the benefit of the doubt that iBear LLC is going to put more focus into the development of the desktop app to make it as good, if not have more features than the iOS counterpart. Because if I were to pay full price ($30) for this, then I would be pretty disappointed with the quality I received. If you guys can nail it, then this is going to be a great finance app with iCloud sync.

great app

i have used this app for a week now and i get on it everyday. its great, i have not had a problem with it yet. love this app.

Great Looking Apps (OS X & iOS) but no sufficient instructions & functions

I have purchased both iOS & OS X latest versions (for OS X 10.10.5 & iOS 9.0.2) in hope to finally find a solution to help consolidate, reconcile, keep track and generate categorized reports. My review is after 1 month of usage. Both apps are probably the most aesthetic and simplistic in the market - design, readability and ergonomics were properly implemented. So far, neither version showed any bugs or crashes. Both apps are very friendly and flexible (numerous visual themes, options to personalize account names, icons, credit limits. reports for income/expense, assets/liabilities ,cash flow, projected balance and transactions that displayed as pie, graph and statement - printed version as statement ONLY. reports can be filtered by many parameters: last 7, 30,90 days. this/last month & this/last year. exported reports as: PDF, CSV, QIF). Bank statements are limited to .OFX files ONLY - I imported a few Bank of America statements - they were not imported smoothly, I needed to edit the files every time. Not for beginners for reconciliation of multiple credit cards, checking etc. - The Help pages do cover most features, but lack essential information, for example - how to input & reconcile credit card statements (several purchases of different categories and vendors, show up as one transaction in the checking account statement). Apps should have a step by step videos to show exactly how this is done, I spent hours trying to figure it out, looking online for solutions and still stuck. Overall, It’s a great app, but wish I could utilize it to reconcile my accounts.

Where’s the help for setup? And where is the bank import?

I have now spent over 4 hours trying to set this up, and have not been able to dos. There is no useful guide for set up, and the help search is a joke. When i tried to set up for the import of my bank statements, I finally got a message it would be able to do this in June….REALLY? It says that this app allows you to import all your bank materials, and I assumed that meant NOW! So why 3 stars given what I have written? If I can ever get it set up, and IF I can import my bank statements, it looks like it might be helpful

Hi devs, please make a tutorial video with step-by-step.

The application has good looks (extremely detalist), good features, but it is very confusing to use without losing a few hours understanding the methodology. I extremely recommend a video tutorial with step-by-step for new users. 2 stars by now, but I really want to add 3 more stars soon. US$29 is too expensive for a simple txt guide. Tks devs.
